Taktika Padel — which is the largest padel club operator in the U.S. with multiple facilities spread across California in cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, Stockton, Palm Desert, and Sunnyvale — will be hosting a PPL event for the third time.

Ryan Redondo, the CEO of Taktika Padel and co-owner of the San Diego Stingrays PPL franchise said, “We are thrilled to host the Pro Padel League this August in San Diego, California. The PPL stands as the premier team padel event globally, and we are confident that the city of San Diego, along with the award-winning Barnes Tennis Center/Taktika Padel, will deliver an outstanding event for the league.

Moreover, with thousands of padel enthusiasts at Taktika Padel and our neighboring regions south of the border, we eagerly anticipate showcasing the world’s best talent. This event will not only captivate existing fans but also introduce the beauty of padel to those who have yet to experience it in the United States market, a fundamental value of the Pro Padel League.”

In Case You’re Not Familiar With the Format:

According to the PPL, “the final regular season event [will] begin Monday, August 19th, with round robin matches taking place through Friday, August 23rd. The semifinals will be held Saturday, August 24th, followed by the final on Sunday, August 25th. The competition format will include men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and a mixed doubles match.”

Furthermore, the league notes, “Concluding the final PPL regular season event in San Diego, the top eight teams in the League standings will advance to the PPL Cup being held in November. At the top of the PPL team standings are the Los Angeles BEAT (ranked no. 1) and the Miami Padel Club (ranked no. 2) who each captured a regular season event title in Miami earlier this year in April.

Following close behind them are the Las Vegas Smash (ranked no. 3) and the Flowrida GOATS (ranked no. 4) who were both finalists in Miami along with the Arkansas Matrix, New York Atlantics, and Toronto Polar Bears who captured third and fourth place finishes. Those teams looking to make a strong comeback in San Diego in August and secure a spot in the PPL Cup include the hometown team and hosts, the San Diego Stingrays, the Cancun Waves, and the Houston Volts.”

Tickets will be available for purchase starting the week of July 8th, 2024, and will include general admission, reserved seating, VIP, and week-long passes.
