While Manhattan-based Reserve is certainly drawing its fair share of attention in the padel world, today’s big announcement from Brooklyn-based padel pioneer Santiago Gomez clearly establishes his brainchild, Padel Haus, as the premier padel club operator in the five boroughs.

According to a statement from the club, Padel Haus plans to open its third permanent Brooklyn location at 12 Berry Street in the Greenpoint neighborhood sometime in October 2024.

This follows the opening of its original, flagship location in Williamsburg, which debuted in July 2022, and Padel Haus Dumbo, which opened its doors in August 2023. Padel Haus also operates a seasonal, three-court outdoor pop-up location at Domino Park.

Of his decision to expand to Green Point, Santiago Gomez, the founder and CEO of Padel Haus, said: “In the 18 months since we brought padel to New York City for the first time, we have seen a surge in demand for this exhilarating sport. New Yorkers are waking up to see just what this sport has to offer, and why it’s the fastest-growing sport worldwide. This is an exciting time for padel in the U.S. and we are thrilled to be a driving force.”

Padel Haus Greenpoint will be the company’s largest club to date, with 5 indoor courts as well as the renowned juice bar ‘Juice Haus’, premium locker rooms, and rain showers. The club will occupy a 20,000 square foot building, feature nearly 28-feet-high-ceilings, and neighbor the popular 35-acre McCarren Park, which is a renowned hub for community activities and sports, including soccer, baseball, and tennis on the border of the fashionable Greenpoint and Williamsburg districts.

As the club’s press release points out, “The launch of Padel Haus Greenpoint will bring padel to another new district of New York, and one with a diverse, cosmopolitan population that reflects the sport’s international status. It is also a much closer destination to players commuting from Long Island City, Queens and the well-known Upper East Side in Manhattan (through the mid-town tunnel).”

Gomez summed up his current and future expansion plans for the Padel Haus brand by saying, “We are delighted to announce the impending arrival of our latest club in New York City. With this excellent location in front of McCarren Park, we are solidifying our position as the premier operator of padel clubs in New York City with a total of 16 courts and, importantly, bringing padel to New Yorkers in the way it should be played – as a true, modern lifestyle, athletics and wellness offering befitting this great city.

The opening of our Greenpoint club marks the closing of the door for us opening further sites in Brooklyn, as we now turn our attention to national expansion.”

With padel clubs now operating in over 20 U.S. states and most major metropolitan areas, it will be certainly be interesting to see where Gomez decides to go next.
