If 2024 was padel’s “breakthrough” year here in the U.S., then from the looks of it, 2025 may well be its breakout year. This is thanks in large part to the dozens upon dozens of new U.S. padel clubs that are set to open over the next year or so.

Among the many exciting new padel facilities around the U.S. that should be ready for play sooner than later are:

Alma Padel, Glenview, IL: As we recently reported, it looks like Chicago’s North Shore will soon be a padel mini-mecca — and leading that charge is Alma Padel, which is set to open sometime in the next couple of months. When it does, Alma Padel will feature four indoor courts (with 28-foot ceilings), floor-to-ceiling windows, and expansive dock doors designed to give the club an open, airy feel that will “bring the outdoors in.”

Padel Alley, Tucson, AZ: Compared to some other clubs openings of its size, Padel Alley has flown a bit under the radar up to this point. But you can bet it’s going to make a huge splash in the U.S. padel world when it opens next month and brings eight new padel courts and four pickleball courts to a state that up until now surprisingly has largely been off the U.S. padel map (save for a few small clubs in Phoenix and Tucson).

Padel Boston, Dedham, MA: Over the past few months we’ve published several updates about the progress of Padel Boston, which is set to open the middle of this month and bring the greater Boston area its second padel club. Padel Boston will feature three panoramic indoor courts from Spanish court manufacturer Portico Sport. Founder Chase Woodsum says these “seamless glass walls and cutting-edge materials offer players an unparalleled playing experience while maximizing spectator visibility.”

Padel Club EP, El Paso, TX: While technically just over the state line in New Mexico, El Paso will get its first padel club when Padel Club EP opens its four court outdoor facility this weekend (Dec. 6). If the response on Instagram is any indication, you can expect the courts — which you can book through Playtomic up to a week in advance — to be packed from day one.

Padel Club Nine Nine, East El Paso, TX: Following closely on the heels of Padel Club EP, Padel Club Nine Nine will open the second padel club in El Paso on the east side of the city. While little is known about the club at this point beyond the fact that it will offer nine outdoor padel courts and the handful of information that has been shared on Instagram, it looks at though the club should be opening sooner than later.

Padel Haus Nashville, Nashville, TN: Of all the new U.S. padel clubs opening in the near future, this may be the most eagerly anticipated and long awaited. Padel Haus Nashville marks the Santiago Gomez-led operation’s first foray outside of Brooklyn and will bring eight indoor courts to one of America’s hippest and hottest urban centers.

Padel N9NE in San Diego
Padel N9NE, San Diego, CA

Padel N9NE, San Diego area: For quite some time now, I’ve been hearing talk of a super-chic new padel club that will be opening somewhere in the San Diego area, and slowly but surely we are finally starting to get more info. For instance, this new 100,000 sq. ft. club will be known as Padel N9NE and will feature eight outdoor padel courts, including two with stadium seating.

There will also be “a stunning clubhouse with indoor and outdoor viewing terraces… executive locker rooms and a fitness/wellness complex… and a variety of on-site dining options.” And if the conceptual renderings we’ve seen are any indication, the San Diego padel scene is about to get a major upgrade.

Padel Plant, Richmond, VA: About 11 months ago, we first caught wind of a massive undertaking happening in Richmond, VA, whereby a group of Virginia and D.C.-based developers planned to transform a defunct hydroelectric power plant into a community-focused offering featuring both pickleball and padel courts. And nearly a year later, it looks like the wait is almost over.

While specifics are still few and far between at this point, when it does open, you can expect for Padel Plant to feature about a half-dozen padel courts along with several additional pickleball courts and food and beverage offerings in a sleek but relaxed environment.

"Ultra on the Water" floating padel club
Ultra On The Water, Miami, FL

Ultra Padel, Miami, FL: Last but certainly never least is Ultra Padel, which as we recently highlighted isn’t opening just one — but five — new padel clubs in the greater Miami area, beginning with their new Aventura location — which is set to feature nine outdoor courts and a stadium court. From there, you can expect to see additional clubs opening in the Design District, Brickell, Coral Gables, and South Beach.

All told, Ultra will bringing well over 30 new padel courts to the area. And keep in mind, that’s in addition to their 29-court flagship location and their new “Ultra On The Water” four-court floating padel club — which is also set to open in the near future.
