In an urgent plea posted to Instagram yesterday, the Pro Padel Padel League (PPL) reached out to social media asking that the public donate to help Arkansas Matrix player Charlie Moon with his ongoing cancer battle, saying:
“Charlie Moon, a beloved member of our PPL and Arkansas Matrix family is battling a recurrence of leukemia and currently in Ecuador. He urgently needs to return to the USA for specialized treatment that isn’t available locally.
This journey entails significant expenses, including medical treatment and travel. Your generous contributions can make a profound difference in Charlie’s fight against leukemia. Please visit the link in our bio to donate. Thank you!”
There was immediately an outpouring of support from fellow pros, fans, and members of other PPL franchises for the Ecuadorian padel pro whose ongoing cancer struggles have been well documented the past couple of years.
From the looks of it, Charlie Moon, is very beloved in the professional padel world, indeed…
And while all of the tremendous support and well wishes are no doubt greatly appreciated, as the PPL post pointed out, generous financial contributions from his fans and supporters are what will ultimately help get him back to the U.S. and the proper treatment he needs.
Moon’s official GoFundMe page was organized by the Padel X team, who added:
“Charlie has always been a beacon of strength and positivity, and now he needs our help more than ever. Please consider donating to his campaign and sharing it with your networks. Every donation, no matter the size, will have a tremendous impact. Let’s join forces to support Charlie in his battle and show him that he is not alone. Together, we can make a difference.”
So far, well over $30,000 of the $50,000 total goal has been raised, but there is still a long way to go, so we hope readers like you will consider donating today.
