After successfully hosting its first two annual “Padel for Brain Cancer” fundraisers at Reserve Padel Miami and then at Reserve Padel Hudson Yards in New York City (which raised a combined $61,000), the non-profit Glioblastoma Research Organization (GBMRO) recently announced it will be hosting the third edition in L.A. next month.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, at The Padel Courts, a California-cool, community-focused club that we featured earlier this year and is among the very first padel venues in Southern California. Despite other new clubs opening in the L.A. area recently, The Padel Courts has really been setting itself apart by hosting everything from charity events like this one to spooky movie nights and secret comedy shows.
Spectators can buy tickets for $75 each and not only watch as 20 top teams battle it out on the courts, but also enjoy on-site activations, food, and drinks.
Even better, every ticket purchase directly supports the GBMRO, making this not just a fun-filled sporting event but a meaningful step toward advancing crucial research. The winner’s prize box includes a TWOTWO padel racket, wellness services, and self-care items.
“We’re thrilled to bring Padel for Brain Cancer to the West Coast!” said Amber Barbach, founder of the Glioblastoma Research Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization raising awareness and funds for cutting-edge global research to find a cure for glioblastoma that has raised over $1.5 million to fund research projects at leading cancer centers throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Barbach then added, “After the amazing response in Miami and New York, it’s exciting to see our community growing. This event is not just about having fun; it’s about making a real impact in the fight against glioblastoma. We’re committed to raising awareness and funds to support groundbreaking research, and we can’t wait to see how the LA community rallies around this cause.”
