Last week the U.S. Padel Association (USPA) began accepting applications for various volunteer committees for the 2024 season.

A statement from the USPA said:

Last year marked a significant milestone in our journey as we inaugurated our very first committees. These pioneering groups have set a robust foundation, especially for Team USA, highlighting the immense value of having dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes to support our players.

2023: A Year of Groundbreaking Achievements

In 2023, our initial committees, focusing on Team USA, Competition, Standards and Ethics, and Club Relations, played a pivotal role in our achievements. Notably, their contribution was instrumental in the success of Team USA, aiding in coach selections, fundraising, and managing team logistics. The Competition Committee deserves special mention for overseeing Rankings and successfully implementing the Padel Manager tournament management software, revolutionizing how we organize and manage Padel tournaments.

2024: Expanding Our Horizons

As we enter 2024, we are expanding our committee structure to include Junior Development, Governance and Finance, Team USA, Competition, Club, and Membership Relations. This expansion reflects our commitment to grow Padel in all areas of the industry.

Committees: A Gateway to Impact and Leadership

Volunteering on a USPA committee is more than just a contribution; it’s an opportunity to significantly impact the growth and direction of Padel in the United States. It’s a platform for our members to bring fresh ideas, drive initiatives, and lead projects that resonate with our mission. Moreover, serving on a committee provides a unique pipeline for members aspiring to be future board members and leaders within the USPA.

Committee Structure and Selection

Each committee will be chaired by a board member responsible for selecting committee members and reporting monthly to the USPA Board of Directors. The committees will be charged with making meaningful decisions and significantly impacting their areas of focus. This structure ensures a streamlined approach to decision-making and project execution. The tenure of each committee is one year, offering an annual opportunity for members to participate in different areas of interest.

Your Chance to Make a Mark

The USPA is more than just an association; it’s a community driven by a shared passion for Padel. Your involvement in these committees is not just volunteer work; it’s a chance to shape the sport’s future in the USA. Your contribution will be invaluable if you bring expertise, enthusiasm, or fresh ideas.

Join Us in This Exciting Journey

We eagerly await your applications and are excited to see the innovative and impactful work our 2024 committees will accomplish. Together, let’s continue to elevate the standard of padel in the United States and build a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving community.

This request for volunteers comes closely on the heels of a first-ever member vote by the USPA to elect a new board of directors and demonstrates the increasing growth of the sport here in the U.S., not just on an interest level but also an organizational one.
