In yet another sign of the growing popularity of padel here in the U.S., the United States Padel Association (USPA) has released its first-ever annual report, which highlights the sport’s growth across the country over the past few years.
Among the highlights of this 37-page report are key facts and figures like:
- The USPA has seen its total number of members climb from just 163 in 2020 to 1,917 in 2024 (which works out to a compound annual membership growth rate of 85% per year)…
- As of the end of 2024, the USPA now has 53 total member clubs around the country, and…
- Last year, the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams turned in historic performances — and brought home numerous trophies — from elite padel competitions around the world including the Pan American Senior Championships in Mar del Plata, Argentina… the Senior World Championships in Alicante, Spain… the Pan American Cat Libres in Asunción, Paraguay… and the FIP World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The report also laid out a number of junior and community initiatives, a detailed summary of the numerous USPA-sanctioned tournaments that were held around the country over the past year, and year-end, top-25 rankings across a variety of categories and age groups.
According to the USPA, “This report highlights the achievements, initiatives, and developments from 2024 while reinforcing the USPA’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and community engagement.”
On the USPA’s website, the association’s President, Bill Ullman, further added:
“On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank all of the committee members, coaches, delegates, and leaders who put so much work into ensuring the USPA is fulfilling its mission—supporting our players, our clubs, our US National Teams, our junior players, and padel communities across the US. We are so grateful for all of our volunteers. We simply could not operate without you.”
