Over the past year or two, Miami has quickly catapulted from the most important padel city in the U.S. to arguably one of the two or three most important padel cities in the entire world. So, perhaps it’s actually not all that surprising that men’s world #1, Arturo Coello, just announced via social media that he and his team are relocating to Miami for 2025.
In a post earlier today on Instagram, Coello stated:
“Miami and [Reserve Padel] will be my future residence and home in 2025. I’m really excited to share this news with you all. Together with my team, we have made the decision to move to the United States because we firmly believe in the expansion of the sport.
This country offers many opportunities, not only to boost the growth of the sport but also to lead an ideal life as a professional athlete. Many sports figures have chosen to live here because it is possible to perfectly balance the development of my game and personal growth.
I would also like to express my gratitude to Wayne Boich for his passion for padel and his tireless dedication to growing the sport in the U.S. and globally. Having the opportunity to join forces with Wayne and his team to continue elevating padel is a great source of motivation for me.”
This means that, among other things, Miami will now be home to:
- One of the world’s largest padel clubs at the flagship location of Ultra Padel…
- The world’s first-ever “all-racket-sports” expo and extravaganza, Racquet X…
- Dozens of padel clubs of all shapes and sizes, with more and more opening all the time…
- The first Premier Padel tournament to ever take place on U.S. soil (at the Miami Beach Convention Center this March), and…
- One of the best — and most recognizable — padel players to ever take the court.
What other surprising tricks does “Magic City” have up its sleeve when it comes to the world’s fastest growing sport? Stay tuned to find out!
