Next week many of the world’s top padel players will descend on San Diego for Event 3 of the Pro Padel League (PPL). And as if that weren’t exciting enough news for the host venue, Taktika Padel, their CEO, Ryan Redondo, recently reached out to let me know that Taktika has also just secured a game-changing new partnership that promises to revolutionize the U.S. padel landscape going forward.

Specifically, Taktika has joined forces with the prestigious Paquito Navarro Academy, and will soon begin implementing the world-class training curriculum and high-performance programs developed by head coach Ramiro Choya, the esteemed coach of padel legend Paquito Navarro, a former world number one and current world number eight.

Go West, Young Man

For those who aren’t familiar, the Paquito Navarro Academy is headquartered at the renowned Jose-Calvo-Sotelo-owned and -operated Mad4Padel club in Madrid, Spain, which has earned a reputation as one of the finest padel clubs globally and is celebrated for its exceptional facilities and top-tier training programs.

What’s more, many of the world’s top ranked players — including numerous Premier Padel stars — train at the Paquito Navarro Academy and consider Mad4Padel as their home club.

And given that developing future world padel champions right here in the U.S. (and particularly in California), has long been a focus and a goal of Taktika Padel founder and chairman Gabriel Perez-Krieb (who is a true visionary in the U.S. padel world), this exciting new partnership makes perfect sense.

Of this groundbreaking new alliance, Perez-Krieb proudly stated, “We are thrilled to join forces with the Paquito Navarro Academy. This collaboration represents a significant milestone for Taktika Padel as we aim to raise the standard of padel training and performance in the United States.”

“With the exceptional guidance of Ramiro Choya and the unparalleled expertise of Paquito Navarro, we are confident that this partnership will inspire and develop the next generation of padel champions.  Additionally, his guidance will, for the first time in the U.S. padel industry, provide a true and experienced padel coaches education and certification platform,” he added.

The Way Forward

As Redondo recently explained to me, under this new partnership, Taktika Padel will be responsible for incorporating the Paquito Navarro Academy’s elite training methodologies and certification programs for coaches across all its clubs and affiliations throughout the U.S.

This initiative will be led by Ramiro Choya, who will bring his extensive expertise and innovative coaching techniques to U.S. padel enthusiasts and professionals.

Jacobo Blanco, who is currently Taktika Padel’s head coach, as well as a former top 15 player in the world and current PPL competitor (for the hometeam San Diego Stingrays), will serve as Choya’s U.S.-based Director of Coach Certifications for the Paquito Navarro Academy.

This collaboration now sets the stage to replicate the professional development already proven in Spain, Argentina, and many other countries rich with padel, within the United States, a market poised to become one of the next padel powerhouses.

Anything Worth Doing …

… is worth doing right, as the old saying goes. And Taktika is certainly looking for this new development to epitomize that sentiment.

According to Redondo, “This partnership is a game-changer for the U.S. padel market. By integrating the Paquito Navarro Academy’s training curriculum and high-performance programming into our clubs, we are setting a new benchmark for padel excellence in the country. Our goal is to provide players of all levels with access to the best coaching and resources, and this collaboration is a significant step towards achieving that vision.

As a former NCAA Division I tennis coach and coach to Grand Slam ATP players, I understand the importance of proper coach education and professional certifications. This is what we are bringing to the U.S. market. To truly experience the joy of padel, it is essential to learn to play correctly, which requires coaches who are trained to teach the sport correctly.”

Navarro echoed this sentiment, saying, “The U.S. has incredible potential for padel growth, and I am excited to see the sport flourish with the support of Taktika Padel’s dedicated team. Together, we will nurture and develop talent, fostering a new era of padel in America and I am honored to elevate this beautiful sport in the U.S. as I have across the globe.”

Ready for Launch, in More Ways Than One

“It is a privilege to bring our academy’s proven training methods and high-performance programs to the U.S. market,” Choya said before adding, “Taktika Padel’s commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with our mission at the Paquito Navarro Academy. I look forward to working closely with the Taktika Padel team to implement our Coaches Certifications and create a robust, competitive environment for padel players across the United States.”

Ultimately Redondo says, “The collaboration between Taktika Padel and the Paquito Navarro Academy marks a pivotal moment for the growth and development of padel in the U.S. Together, we are poised to set new standards of excellence and drive the sport’s popularity to new heights.”

And knowing Redondo, Perez-Krieb, and everything they’ve already accomplished with Taktika Padel, something tells me he’ll probably be proven right.
