It seems like with each new week comes news of a new padel club being opened somewhere in the U.S. As of now, there are currently clubs in 21 states and counting, and by all indications the pace of club openings is only going to accelerate from here.

Among the most highly anticipated — and exciting — U.S. padel clubs and projects slated to come online in 2024 include:

Padel + Pickle Club, St. Louis, MO: As we previously reported, three U.S. squash legends, who all originally hail from the U.K., have teamed up to turn a 42,000 sq. ft. warehouse just outside St. Louis into a thriving, buzzy “social hub” with eight pickleball courts and six padel courts (the first in Missouri) under the Padel + Pickle brand.

Last week, co-founder Mike Puertas told me, “We’re just finishing the last two coats of the 13 layers on the pickleball courts this week. The rest of the build-out, apart from our entrance, will be finished next week.”

Estimated opening date: Late February

U-Padel, San Antonio, TX: Following closely on the heels of opening the largest indoor padel facility in Texas, just outside of Houston, the team behind U-Padel will also soon be opening the first padel club in San Antonio.

U-Padel’s “Judson Club” in San Antonio will feature five outdoor padel courts, a snack bar, pro shop, and free wellness sessions. And like the original U-Padel “Woodlands Club” outside Houston, the Judson Club will also feature an M3 training academy.

Estimated opening date: March

Park Padel, San Francisco, CA: After bringing padel to the Bay Area in stunning fashion last fall with its two-court pop-up club on the Embarcadero, the team behind Park Padel will be opening a six-court, permanent indoor facility in South San Francisco later this year, complete with lounge and work space, full work out area, retail store, and luxury locker rooms.

Estimated opening date: Late Spring

Padel Haus, Brooklyn, NY (Greenpoint): As we reported last week, U.S. padel pioneer Santiago Gomez has announced that Padel Haus will be opening its third permanent location in Brooklyn (and fourth overall) in the ultra-trendy Greenpoint neighborhood this fall.

Padel Haus Greenpoint will be the brand’s largest club to date, with 5 indoor courts as well as the renowned juice bar ‘Juice Haus’, premium locker rooms, and rain showers.

Estimated opening date: October

Future home of Padel Plant

Padel Plant, Richmond, VA: Despite there currently only being one padel court in the state of Virginia, two development firms have teamed up to transform an abandoned, 124-year-old hydroelectric power plant in downtown Richmond into a massive padel, pickleball, and social venue known as Padel Plant.

The 19,000 sq. ft. venue will feature approximately a half-dozen padel courts (both indoors and outdoors), lob-friendly 35-foot-high ceilings, and a local food and beverage concept. The developers further report they plan to keep many of the signature murals that line the exterior of the building.

Estimated opening date: Late Fall

Of course, these are just five of the dozens of groundbreaking padel projects currently on our radar…

Others include Taktika Padel’s new facility at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA; three planned club openings by Sensa Padel in Austin, Miami, and Nashville; Padel United Sports Club finally bringing padel to the state of New Jersey; the second Padel California location opening in the Whittier neighborhood of Los Angeles; plus many more.
