For those of us tracking the progress of Sensa Padel, yesterday’s big announcement on Instagram about their soon-to-open padel club in Boston came as a bit of a surprise.

After all, for the past six months or so, it had appeared their first three clubs were slated to open in Austin, Nashville, and Miami — and Sensa is scheduled to host a RedPadel tournament this coming October 18 – 20 in Nashville. But, up until yesterday, the fact that they were getting ready to imminently open the first padel club in Massachusetts flew largely under the radar.

While details are still few and far between at this point, we do know Sensa will be opening four indoor courts with 40 foot ceilings (!) inside of Bosse Sports, which bills itself as, “a state of the art facility designed for athletes and sports enthusiasts” and currently offers indoor pickleball, basketball, and turf fields.

Sensa has chosen leading Swedish tech firm MATCHi to power their club’s court bookings, and according to MACTCHi’s Sensa Padel Boston site, the club will be hosting a kick-off “Boston Meet and Greet” next weekend, May 16-19.

A statement on the site says, “Come join Sensa Padel for our opening Meet & Greet. Wear in the courts, come meet the other Boston padel enthusiasts and give padel a try if you’re new to the game. Stop by any time from 2-10pm from May 16-19. No payments needed, just have fun on the courts. We’re open for all levels and will try to match players to their skill levels.”

The club will also be opening free open play beginning June 1, and says, “To kick off the Boston padel season, we’re offering free open plays for first time visitors throughout June. Bring your friends, family, and colleagues and enjoy padel with our team on site. This event is for all playing levels who want to learn about padel and come try out the facility. We will match players based on level when you get to the courts.”

They continue, “Open plays are a great way for players to meet similar-skill levels and play a series of round robin matches. No prior organization needed – just sign up and we’ll pair you with the right match. And if you come with a partner, we can pair you together.”
