With so many new padel clubs starting to open across the U.S., it’s becoming a bit of a challenge to keep track of them all, let alone determine which ones may have the biggest impact on the sport’s trajectory here in the States.

So, we recently reached out to our readers and followers on both LinkedIn and Instagram with a poll, asking them what they thought was the most highly anticipated U.S. padel club opening of early 2025.

Of course, there are plenty of major contenders, including:

And then there’s the likes of Smash Padel (which is bringing the state of Colorado its first indoor padel club)… Padel Haus Nashville (which is that iconic operator’s first foray outside of Brooklyn)… and several new planned locations from Ultra Padel in the greater Miami area — just to name a few.

But Two Clubs Stood Head and Shoulders Above All the Rest…

Unfortunately, both LinkedIn and Instagram only allow for four total options on a poll. But, even so, as you can clearly see, Alma Padel — which is set to open very soon on Chicago’s North Shore (a rapidly emerging padel mecca in its own right) ran away with it on LinkedIn, grabbing nearly three quarters of the votes.

Obviously, Chicago has a legendary sporting background, especially given that it’s home to storied pro sports franchises like the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs, and White Sox.

What’s more, the Windy City is one of only four cities in the U.S. (along with Boston, New York, and Philadelphia) that is home to both singles and handball doubles squash courts, platform tennis courts, court/real tennis courts, and racquets courts.

So, it only makes sense that Chicago racket-sports fanatics would be extremely excited to welcome a new club that will offer them a chance to play “the world’s fastest growing sport.”

Meanwhile, our followers on Instagram made it abundantly clear via their comments that they were most excited about another new club opening soon in San Diego: Padel N9NE — which will span a sprawling 100,000 sq. feet and offer eight padel courts, including two stadium courts.

Given that San Diego was one of the first cities in the U.S. besides Miami and Houston to establish itself as a major player in the U.S. padel scene and recently hosted a Pro Padel League event, it also makes sense that both demand and excitement for the sport are high.

Granted, for most padel addicts, the most eagerly anticipated padel club opening of the year will always be the one in your home town. And given the continued growth we’re seeing across the country, it’s only a matter of time before we’ll have to do another poll. So, please keep an eye out!
