For the second time in as many tries so far this year, Miami-born, Madrid-based padel influencer, personality, and pro Brittany Dubins has captured a USPA Major title, this time at the new-look P1 Padel in Las Vegas.
While Dubins has already hoisted one USPA Major trophy this year at Padel Haus in Brooklyn, this was the first time that Dubins’ partner, Carla Rodriguez Sanchez — who was born in Spain and currently lives in Denmark — has ever even played in one.
On Instagram Sanchez commented: “My first USPA tournament ended up with a win this weekend! So cool to be back in the US playing padel again 🇺🇸🎾 Thank you @brittdubins for this weekend, well played 🔥👊🏻
Thank you to @usapadel and @p1padel Las Vegas for the great organization and set up 🌟 Hope to be back soon! Special shout out to all the girls that are part of the USPA circuit, I had a great time meeting and hanging out with you all! Amazing to see how quickly the level is increasing in the US 🙌🏼.”
Dubins added, “🏆🎾 Champions in USPA Las Vegas Major! 🎾🏆 Pretty cool playing in Sin City, surrounded by incredible energy both on and off the court. A big thank you to @p1padel for putting together a great tournament and to my partner @carla.rodriguez.sanchez Rodriguez for playing with me!! 💪🏻🫶🏻.”
Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Juan Manuel Vázquez (who plays for the Las Vegas Smash in the Pro Padel League) and Jose Carlos Gaspar (who recently dazzled crowds at a padel exhibition here in Charleston, SC) took home the D1 trophy after defeating Peter Alonso and Jacobo Blanco De Miguel in the final.
Of the win, Vázquez said on Instagram, “Tough conditions to play but happy to fight it with you @jcgaspar5. See you in Chicago 💪🏼.”
The next Major on the USPA Chosen Foods Circuit will take place May 31 – June 2 at Padel Clube, outside Chicago, where Brittany Dubins will have a chance to win her third consecutive Major title of the year.
