RedPADEL Announces Two Major U.S. Padel Events That Will Take Place in January
RedPADEL recently unveiled details on two major padel events that they will be hosting in January. The first is its its highly anticipated 2024 NOVAC WPR Masters event, which is set to take place at The Replay Club in Boynton Beach, Florida on January 11-12 and offer $40,000 in prize money.
The following weekend (January 17-19) they will then host a team-based event on the opposite coast of Florida at THE PAD in Sarasota known as The America’s Cup 2025 (AC25), which is the culmination of the Padel Club League season, an inter-club team padel competition in partnership with the United States Padel Association (USPA) which featured 26 teams.
This event will bring together teams to compete for the title of best padel club team in the U.S. and Canada, and the eight club teams that qualified for AC25 are pictured above.

NOX USPA 2024 Circuit Wraps Up in Style With USPA Masters Finals in New York
According to the U.S. Padel Association (USPA), “The USPA Masters Finals [played at Padel Haus Dumbo in Brooklyn] served as the crowning moment of the NOX USPA 2024 Circuit, highlighting the remarkable growth and passion for padel across the United States. This year’s events showcased extraordinary talent and fierce competition, paving the way for an even brighter future.”

“New” High-End U.S. Performance Brand Pallap Padel Hosts Launch Party at Padel Haus Dumbo
As we recently reported, while Pallap is a well-known padel brand in Europe, until now it has been virtually unknown on this side of the Atlantic. But long-time racket spots veteran Phillip Mintz is about to change that in a big way with the launch of Pallap Padel USA, which just hosted a kickoff bash at Padel Haus in Dumbo this past weekend.

Epic Padel Set to Make Major Mid-Atlantic Padel Push With Club Openings in Charlotte and D.C. Area
As the Washington Business Journal recently reported (subscription required), following closely on the heels of Padel Up opening the first padel club in the D.C. region, Epic Padel is set to bring two more clubs the the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) area with clubs in Tysons Corner, VA and Alexandria, VA.
What’s more, just this morning via a post on LinkedIn, Epic Padel COO Tim Bainton announced that Epic will also be bringing the second padel club to the Charlotte region (Charlotte Padel Club being the first) as the company has partnered with Prosperity Athletic Club to bring six padel courts to the family-owned tennis, pickleball, and swim club that has been a cornerstone of Charlotte’s athletic community for over 25 years.

First-Ever U.S. Femme Open Padel Event Set to Take Place in Houston This Coming Weekend
As we recently reported, after initially starting with just one tournament in Sweden and then quickly taking the racket sports world by storm, the Femme Open will host its inaugural U.S.-based event at TEMPO Padel & Pickleball Club in Houston on December 6 and 7.
24 all-female padel teams and 24 all-female pickleball teams will compete across a variety of skill levels including high beginner, intermediate, and advanced. If you are interested in playing or attending, full details can be found on the official Houston Femme Open site.
Big Name Investors — Including Two MLS Stars — Back Park Padel Expansion With $5 Million Seed Round
As we mentioned in a recent update, last week the San Francisco Business Times reported that a group of noteworthy investors including Major League Soccer (MLS) stars Sebastian Lletget (FC Dallas) and Jeremy Ebobisse (San Jose Earthquakes), as well as several big name Bay Area family offices, just backed a $5 million seed raise by Park Padel.
This follows the opening of La Casa de Padel just outside Kansas City earlier this year by another group of current and former MLS players and continues the growing trend of pro athletes investing in American padel ventures.

Inaugural Maccabi World Padel Cup in Miami Unites Over 260 Jewish Players from 12 Countries
Over 260 Jewish padel players representing a dozen different countries recently gathered at Ultra Padel Club in Miami to compete in the first-ever Maccabi World Padel Cup, which was founded by Patricio Misitrano, who is co-founder of The Sports Haus in Connecticut and runs Misitrano Consulting.
On Instagram, Mistitrano stated, “Under the visionary leadership of Emi Abramzon and a dedicated team, the event brought players together from countries like Israel, Argentina, the USA, and beyond, showcasing the unifying power of padel and shared cultural identity.”
“At Misitrano Consulting, we’re proud to have played a part in building this global Jewish padel community. A huge thank you to all the players, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event a success. We look forward to supporting future editions as this incredible initiative grows!,” he added.

Flowrida Goats Take Home Trophy at Pro Padel League’s Season Two Finale
After five days of world-class padel showdowns at the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, NY, the Daddy-Yankee-backed Flowrida Goats pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Miami Padel Club in the finals of the Pro Padel League (PPL) “City’s Cup” Championship over the weekend.
The tournament was the first-ever PPL event to be held in New York and featured top-tier players from around the world including Augustin Tapia, Ari Sanchez, Fede Chingotto, Martin Di Nenno, Gemma Triay, Paquito Navarro, Delfi Brea, Martita Ortega, and more.

U.S. Padel Association (USPA) Set to Host 2024 Season Finale in New York
The USPA will wrap up the 2024 tournament season by hosting the prestigious USPA Masters Finals from December 6 to 8, 2024, at the renowned Padel Haus in Brooklyn, NY. This event marks the culmination of the competitive season, bringing together the nation’s top padel players to vie for the coveted Masters title.

Financial Times declares, “So Long Tennis” and Explores “How Padel Took Over the World”
While not U.S.-focused padel news per se, even the Financial Times is now waking up to the immense popularity of the sport worldwide. In fact, according to their recent article, there are now over 30 million padel fanatics around the globe, and it is now the second most played sport in Spain after soccer.

Two New Padel Clubs Preparing to Open in Boston and Chicago
As we reported earlier this fall, Alma Padel will soon be opening the first padel club on Chicago’s North Shore, and this soon-to-open 26,000 square foot facility recently caught the attention of the Chicago Business Journal. International Padel Federation (FIP) Unveils New Padel Showdown Pitting Europe vs. the Americas
Earlier today, the International Padel Federation (FIP) announced the launch of an inaugural new inter-continental cup competition – the equivalent of tennis’ Laver Cup and golf’s Ryder Cup – which will take place biennially, seeing top and emerging players from the Americas compete against Europe for a whopping €700,000 in prize money at some of the most compelling venues of the sport, starting with the first competition in 2025.

Greater D.C. Area Finally About to Get Its First Padel Club
After months and months of speculation (and frustration) from D.C. area padel players about if and when a padel club would finally open somewhere in the “DMV” region (D.C./Maryland/Virginia), a four-court indoor facility — with 28-foot-high ceilings — known as Padel Up will finally be opening in Sterling, VA, next week.
In addition to one infinity super panoramic and three LT model panoramic courts from Padel Lux and Italian padel-court manufacturer Favaretti Padel, the club will also feature cutting-edge technology and a coffee/smoothie bar.

U.S. Padel Association (USPA) Accepting Applications for 2025 NOX USPA Circuit Tournament Venues
The USPA recently announced that applications for clubs wishing to host tournaments in 2025 are open now through November 20, 2024. The USPA further stated:
“These tournaments are key to the growing NOX USPA Circuit, which has become the backbone of competitive padel in the USA. Building on the success of 2024, the 2025 circuit promises to foster even more participation and talent development across the U.S. With tournament categories ranging from USPA 100s to the prestigious US Open Padel Championships, clubs of all sizes have the opportunity to contribute to the sport’s rapid growth.”

InvestTrek Capital Looks to Accelerate Growth of Emerging Sports Like Padel in the U.S.
InvestTrek Capital, a California-based investment company co-founded by U.S. padel pioneer Alan Flatt, just announced the launch of two funds focused on the intersection of commercial real estate and emerging sports, such as padel and pickleball, with a steep growth curve and the prospect of significant returns.
As highlighted in this morning’s press release, Flatt established himself as a prominent first mover in U.S. padel by leading an investment group who invested in six emerging padel businesses including the first padel club in New York City and a professional team.
In Flatt’s words, “Racquet sports are experiencing tremendous growth in the US, and padel is in the early stage of what we believe will be a major boom. Padel is the fastest growing racquet sport in the world, and could rival pickleball and tennis for popularity in the US in years to come.”
“Our focus extends beyond US Padel opportunities to building an investment platform that supports the overall growth of emerging sports and fitness sectors,” he added.

Men’s and Women’s National Teams Do U.S. Proud at FIP World Padel Championships in Doha, Qatar
While perennial padel powerhouses like Spain and Argentina predictably dominated the just-completed FIP World Padel Championships in Qatar, both the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams did their country proud with incredibly strong performances and some impressive match wins.
As the U.S. Padel Association (USPA) documented on Instagram, the U.S. men captured a 13th place finish after a decisive 2-0 victory against their rivals to the south, Mexico. Meanwhile, on the women’s side, the U.S. again scored a 2-0 victory in their final match of the tournament against Germany to secure 15th place.
Of the play of the men and women’s teams, the USPA said, “We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication, strength, and relentless spirit. Huge shout out to each player for leaving it all on the court and representing Team USA with pride and passion! 🇺🇸❤️”

Park Padel Opens Second Club in the Bay Area This Past Weekend
As we recently reported, Park Padel is bringing two new padel clubs to Northern California, the first of which opened this past weekend in South San Francisco.
This six-court, indoor facility (with 30 foot high ceilings) will be followed by a third location in Sacramento, which will feature four outdoor courts.

Padel Boston Drops a Few Big Announcements as It Moves Closer to Opening
The Boston area will soon be home to at least three padel clubs, thanks in part to Padel Boston, which is getting ready to open a three-court indoor facility in Dedham, MA, in the very near future.
In fact, according to an email update from the Padel Boston this morning, not only should the club’s courts be delivered this week and ready for installation, but Padel Boston has also hired Pablo Alcantara Bailey as their Coach and Head Padel Advisor.
As noted in this email, “Pablo is originally from Madrid, Spain and brings over 30 years of padel experience to the Boston Area with a deep background in competitive padel having competed in multiple World Championships representing the USA as well as competing on the World Padel Tour.”

U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams Begin Competing at FIP World Padel Championships in Doha, Qatar
Earlier today both the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams began their respective quests for glory at the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha, Qatar, where 32 total teams (16 men’s and 16 women’s) made up of some of the world’s best padel players are competing on behalf of their countries.
Both the U.S. men’s and women’s teams faced strong competition in their respective groups, with the men landing in a group including defending champions Argentina, European runners-up Italy, and Belgium. Meanwhile, the women’s team also wound up in a group including Argentina (to which they fell 0-3 in their opening match), as well as Portugal and Egypt.

And now, it is also home to what is presumably the highest-elevation padel court in the U.S. at the just opened Aspen Padel Club.

Las Vegas Smash Take Home the Trophy at Pro Padel League (PPL) Event 3 in San Diego
This past weekend, the Las Vegas Smash were crowned champions at the PPL’s final 2024 regular season event in San Diego, which took place at Taktika Padel located at the award-winning Barnes Tennis Center.
The Smash defeated the New York Atlantics in the final on Sunday after capturing both the women’s doubles and men’s doubles matches featuring the world’s best padel players and global superstars. You can get the full details here — or even watch a full replay of all the final day’s matches here.
Padel Finally Makes Its Way to Ohio
While details are scant at this point, a recent LinkedIn post from the president of PROSPORTCOURT, seems to confirm that Ohio will soon be home to at least one padel court somewhere in the Cleveland area. Which, if not at a private residence, would mean that Ohio will now be the 27th state with publicly accessible padel courts.

Swing Racquet + Paddle Finally Breaks Ground in North Carolina
As reported by multiple sources including local news outlets in Raleigh, NC, the mammoth 44-acre racket sports concept known as Swing Racquet + Paddle has finally broken ground.
Swing will be reportedly be home to 80 indoor and outdoor courts for several sports including 28 tennis courts, 25 pickleball courts, 15 padel courts, four beach tennis courts, and a ping pong lounge — which will make it the largest multi-racket-sports facility in the world.
While the $10 million the city of Raleigh invested into the concept may seem excessive or risky, the new facility is projected to create 300 jobs and drive an incredible $360 million in economic impact in its first three years, while attracting more than one million visitors.

US National Teams Announced for Upcoming FIP World Qualifiers in Mexico
Last week, the United States Padel Association (USPA) revealed the official rosters for both the Men’s and Women’s US National Teams, which will compete in the FIP World Padel Championships North American Qualifiers in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, from September 6-7, 2024.
As the USPA notes: “The FIP World Padel Championships North American Qualifiers will be a crucial step on the road to the World Championships, where the top teams from each region will face off in a bid to be crowned the best in the world.”
